Selangor wins 2 0 over Kuala Lumpur in Super League opener

KUALA LUMPUR : Selangor continued their dominance in the Klang Valley derby as they recorded a 2-0 win over Kuala Lumpur in their Super League opener at the Cheras Football Stadium.

Segovia’s glancing header from Azamuddin Akhil’s cross in the 16th minute opened the scoring and he got his name in the goal-scorer sheet as he sealed the full points with a close range attempt deep into injury time.

Selangor’s win was their 12th win over the City Boys since 2008 and spoil KL’s return to their top flight Super League after winning the Premier League last season.

Selangor will next take on Melaka at the Cheras Football Stadium on Wednesday, while KL will travel to meet Negri Sembilan at the Tunku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi.
