Hargapedia app helps shoppers compare grocery prices

While most price comparison services are for credit cards and bank loans, Hargapedia addresses a more day-to-day issue: best grocery prices.

The free-app, available on iOS and Android, allows users to compare prices of popular grocery items and promotions being offered by more than 40 retailers including Tesco, Giant, Mydin and Aeon Big, as well as Guardian and Watsons.

On the app store page, seller Ontrack Digital Sdn Bhd said the app was updated daily with the latest promotional prices, tracking over 2,100 items.

Hargapedia also displays newspaper clippings and leaflets of ongoing promotions.

To make it easier to for users to find what they want, groceries are divided into broad categories like beverages, food, baby items and pet food, and users can drill down to more specific items like carbonated drinks, fish or vegetables, diapers and cat or dog food.

It’s rated 3.9 (out of 5) on the Google Play store and 4.8 (out of five) on the Apple App store.
